After His Chris Picco’s Wife Died During Childbirth, He Sang John Lennon’s Blackbird To His Dying Son

This is an incredibly heartbreaking story that I would like to share with all of you. It’s not meant to bring anyone down, and I know it isn’t pet related, but it’s  an important reminder of how precious life is. Let’s lend our thoughts, prayers, and love to Chris Picco during this incredibly difficult time.

A father from California, Chris Picco, lost his wife during child birth. The baby needed to be delivered by C-Section, and due to complications, his wife passed away.

Just 24 short weeks after his birth, Picco’s son, aptly named Lennon, was slipping away.

In Picco’s words: “Lennon’s lack of movement and brain activity was a constant concern for the doctors and nurses at Loma Linda University Hospital, where he received the absolute best care available. During the pregnancy, Ashley would often feel Lennon moving to music so Chris asked if he could bring his guitar into the NICU and play for Lennon, which he did for several hours during the last days of Lennon’s precious life.”

Not long after this video was filmed, Chris’s baby passed away in his arms.

If you would like to donate to Chris, to help him with medical bills and other expenses related to this tragic event, please visit the Memorial Fund that was set up for him, his wife, and child. Please hug someone you love tonight, and appreciate every minute that you have with that person.
