Dog Has Emotional Response To Hearing Mom’s Voice After 9 Months Apart

If you’re a dog parent, then you probably don’t care what people say about whether or not your dog recognizes you or understands you on a deeper level. You know they do!

Some skeptics believe that dogs don’t have the emotional capacity to really recognize our voices and faces, but those people probably just don’t have a ton of experience with animals. That total freakout you’re greeted with every day after work or after going on a trip is certainly no accident, after all! Dog mom Oriany De Oliviera of Argentina knows all about that.

She unfortunately had to move away from her beloved dog, Layla, recently. She left the pup with her parents so she’d know she was in good hands, but the months and months apart were really starting to take a toll on both of them. Nine months into their separation, Oriany decided that she’d have a little video chat with her dog. What she didn’t expect, however, was Layla’s incredibly emotional reaction.

“I have gone nine months without seeing my dog. Today I tried this way to see if she recognized me. I’m still crying,” she wrote on Twitter. Check out the heartwarming footage down below and share this video with all the dog moms and dads in your life!
